It’s been about year without a working stool downstairs! I installed a new unit this morning with little trouble.
The best bit of lake news I’ve heard in a long time!!!
LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. (7MM) — The electronic billboard facing the main channel from Toad Cove was taken down at 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.Apparently, a crew arrived Sunday at Camden at the Lake, formerly the Horny Toad and Resort & Yacht Club, to inform hotel management the electronic screen was being repossessed from OSS Investment LLC.
OSS Investment LLC had a previous arrangement to erect and sell advertising on the electronic board with the former owner of The Resort & Yacht Club.
The Toad Cove electronic screen is one of four the crew is taking down, including boards at Peckers on Business 54, the Niangua Bridge on Highway 5 and a board on Route MM.

2010 Lake Season Approaching Full Speed!

This is sort of a test post from an app I put on my Blackberry! FYI
The 2010 summer season is fast approaching! The lake is looking more and more like a refreshing break from the hot summer sun!!! A nice contrary to the partly frozen, warmth sucking, white capped, tundra pond that it was just a few months ago! Trees and lawns are teeming with green! The water is clean and crisp (at least to the naked eye)! The cabin is looking good!
There are a couple items worthy of mentioning!
1. Rocky Top has re-arranged inside making family dining a little nicer (now non-smoking), while keeping that dingy bar feel we’ve all grown to love (smoking allowed in bar area). They’ve also added a nice covered patio area complete with at least one flat screen! I’ve not sat in this area, but it looks decent. The cheese pizza will fill your stomach, but it’s no Calgaro’s. Watch for extremely loud female shuffleboard players if you sit near the laughable salad bar!!!
2. The cup and dish cabinets have been completely organized! No longer will you have to search far and wide to find that perfect glass!
3. $2.00 per bag trash drop at Jiffy Stop makes me happy! They have a special on corn chips too! $1.39 per bag!
4. The Toad is under new ownership/management!
5. They never found that alligator, but local experts say “It cain’t have made it through that cold spell”!
6. Val’s (formerly Cousins) is still dominating the Laurie breakfast scene!
7. West Side Lanes serves Boulevard beers by the pitcher with chilled glasses for $7.00!
Anyone got plans for a visit this summer?

Christmas To Remember - Roll Call!
Here is a brief introduction to the recording where the MC (not sure who) takes the microphone around for everyone to say their names. Below is the list of the folks present as of the recording! He mentions that Sheldy and Lola, and Roger and Cathy, Russell and Elorine were also a part of the festivities that day, but had left for home before the recording started. Also that George Charles (Hann?) and his wife were up in Minneapolis.
Mama, Robert, Paul, Clarence E. Sanders, Lucille, Nelly, Laura Margaret, Jane, Dale, Martha, Mary Jane, Colden (?), Merle (?), Mary Lou, Ernest B, Howard, John, Betty, Jim, Elenor, Marge (?), Joan, Ernest, Cecil, John, Valeska, Haddie, Dave, Barry Hann
